Tough on crime politicians should focus on prevention
In an opinion piece published in the Globe and Mail, SGM's Frank Addario questions whether legislative reforms aimed at getting tough on crime are effective in reducing crime and making us safer.
Commenting on Bill C-25, which strips judges of some of their discretion in sentencing, Frank suggests that legislators ought to focus on uncovering the causes of crime so that it can be prevented, rather than trying to clean up the mess after the fact.
