Simran Prihar is a member of SGM’s labour law group. She was a summer student and an articling student at SGM and joined the firm following her call to the Ontario Bar in 2009.
Simran received her law degree from the Queen’s University Faculty of Law in 2009, where she also completed a master’s degree in industrial relations in 2006. She was awarded the W.D. Wood Fellowship in Industrial Relations and the Roy Heenan Award in Industrial Relations. On graduation from law school, she received the Sack Goldblatt Mitchell Award in Labour Law, Employment Law and Human Rights for overall performance in these areas. Simran previously obtained a bachelor of arts degree in economics and political science from the University of British Columbia in 2005.
Throughout law school, Simran was an executive member of the Queen’s Law Cancer Society, helping organize an annual charity dance show among other fundraising activities. She was also an executive member of the Labour and Employment Law Association, Queen’s Law Pro-Bono and the South Asian Law Students’ Association.
Simran is a member of the Canadian Association of Labour Lawyers, the Ontario Bar Association, the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers, and the South Asian Bar Association.
